The Metro Nashville Planning Department initiated a six-month neighborhood planning process for Edgehill, aiming to guide growth and development over the next two decades. The draft plan recognizes Edgehill’s historical significance as an African American urban center, influenced by 1960s urban renewal, and its active community. The plan is structured around three key principles: retain and preserve for historic preservation, inclusive, smart growth for mixed-use development along major corridors, and reconnect and elevate to enhance open spaces. The project will produce an actionable neighborhood plan aligned with community objectives, encompassing housing, open spaces, mobility, and economic development while prioritizing equity and community goals.
