Sam Milton
Community Development Strategist
Sam Milton is originally from Silver Spring, MD, and previously lived in Nashville, TN from 2016-2021. He earned his master’s in public affairs in 2023 from the University of Texas at Austin. As a graduate student, he gained experience interning for City of Austin Housing and Planning Department, working as a graduate research assistant studying childcare deserts in Texas, and contributing to the creation of a strategic plan for the Austin Cultural Trust, a $2.4 million public real estate development fund established to support artists citywide.
Most recently, Sam worked as a research manager for HousingWorks Austin, a research, education, and advocacy organization seeking to increase the affordable housing supply in Central Texas. His work included coordinating research and data analysis on affordable housing impacts for multiple cities and counties throughout the region, in addition to engaging with key stakeholders to promote more affordable housing options.
In his spare time, Sam enjoys attending concerts, singing, exploring restaurants around town, and both watching and playing sports.
