Our Story
Our Beginning

While studying at University of Tennessee Knoxville, Edward took on a contract position at the Music City Center. He served as a Project Manager working on budgets, administration, and special projects. Being born and raised in Nashville, Edward always had the vision to be a part of creating the best version of his home. Through his studies and work on the Music City Center, Edward gained the skills and expertise to finally make that vision come true.

In 2013, Pillars was founded off the simple idea that equitable real estate development could help construct communities that serve people and they
are proud to call home. Our approach displays the true ability for community-centered land use and real estate development to be sustainable for everyone. This being achieved through projects, of various scales and locales, all with a collection of community betterment outcomes.

Since then, Pillars has won numerous awards, such as the Next 2021 Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction Emerging Leader and, more recently, the ULI Excellence in Development Award. Many of Pillars’ projects have been recognized for outstanding quality, such as the LEED Gold Certification for the Music City Center and Riverfront Park. This success has led to Pillars to expand the firm with the opening of Pillars Group in Puerto Rico.

Our Logo

The Pillars logo pays homage to Pillars’ “Hometown” landmark, the Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee. The famous recreation of the Ancient Greek temple recalls a place where both locals and travelers could witness, benefit from, and engage with a thriving community and culture. It was a civic center that was an icon of vitality for the city of Athens. In the same way, Pillars desires to assist in the creation of thoughtful places that are dedicated to providing economic, educational, and recreational improvement to our local community.
